John Henry Newman was one of the people that professor Walter J. Veith covered in his all new Rekindling the Reformation series. He mentioned in that series that, at the time, the Roman Catholic church was thinking upon making Cardinal Newman a saint, or beautifying him. This has now just happened! What a blow to the Reformation and all the martyrs that have sealed their faith with their blood!
